I always had a problem with heavy, painful periods. I remembered losing a job because of all the time I had to take off due to the heavy periods. I was so embarrassed about why I wasn't able to come into work. Some people thought I was lying about my periods. What was worse was that other women didn't understand and some even said to me "I get periods too and I still come to work". I couldn't leave my bed, not just because of the heavy bleeding but also the extreme pain I was in. And I had to wear diapers because of the amount of blood I was losing.
I ended up being diagnosed with PCOS. I had to work with a dietician and I do take supplements. It has been helping with not just with the bleeding but with the pain too. Unfortunately, I still have high blood sugar levels.
Thank you for sharing you experience with us. It's very unfortunate that you lost your job. That must have been very awful. And I'm sorry that others were not understanding. I'm happy to hear that you are now getting some relief with your bleeding and pain too. I have a problem with insulin resistances as well (the joys of PCOS😥)
I'm glad you are now part of the Strong and Femme community❤️ and hopefully, we can end the judgement associated with periods.
